A client-server architecture for distributed measurement systems

چکیده
This paper describes a client–server architecture for the remote control of instrumentation over the Internet network. The proposed solution allows multiuser, multi-instrument sessions by means of a queueing and instrument locking capability. Client applications can be easily developed by using conventional high-level programming languages or well-assessed virtual instrumentation frameworks. Performance tests are reported; they show the low overhead due to network operation with respect to the direct control of instrumentation.

SPE Models for Multi-Tier Client/Server Interactions with MQSeries and Other Middleware
This paper describes how to construct Software Performance Engineering (SPE) models of multitier client/server interactions with middleware such as MQSeries. It covers typical performance problems in distributed systems of this type and gives a brief review of the SPE modeling approach. A case study illustrates how to create the SPE models, detect and correct performance problems early in the l...
متن کاملAn Architecture for Building Reliable Distributed Object-Based Systems
This paper proposes an architecture for designing fault-tolerant distributed object systems. The proposed architecture attempts to bring advances in client-server, remote procedure call, reliable group communication, and object orientation technologies under a uni ed architecture to ease application developers' work of building reliable distributed systems. The result application systems should...
متن کاملAdaptation of Web service architecture in distributed embedded systems
The paper discusses the possibility of adaptation of Web Services Architecture (WSA) in distributed embedded systems. It provides a brief description of this architecture and a tool for creating services in Java and C/C++. A three-tier client/server model of a distributed system for monitoring of temperature and humidity is presented and techniques for adaptation of this model to the WSA are pr...
متن کاملInverting X: an architecture for a shared distributed window system
Shared window systems have become a popular vehicle for supporting distributed, synchronous collaboration. At present they are difficult to build and they support limited paradigms of multi-user interaction with shared applications. We believe this difficulty is largely due to the inverted nature of the client/server architecture of most distributed window systems. The architecture is inverted ...
متن کاملSeparating indexes from data: a distributed scheme for secure database outsourcing
Database outsourcing is an idea to eliminate the burden of database management from organizations. Since data is a critical asset of organizations, preserving its privacy from outside adversary and untrusted server should be warranted. In this paper, we present a distributed scheme based on storing shares of data on different servers and separating indexes from data on a distinct server. Shamir...
